JAMMU, July 9: Dr Banarsi Lal, Senior Scientist & Head of Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Reasi of SKUAST-Jammu, has been conferred with the ‘Best Scientist Award’ during the 12th Science & Technology Awards-2023 ceremony, organised recently at Bangalore by the Education Expo TV (EET CRS).
The award has been conferred to the scientist in recognisation of his meritorious achievements and remarkable contributions in the agricultural sector. Science & Technology Awards Research Panel considered Dr Banarsi for the Best Scientist Award on the basis of his research papers in reputed journals as first author, books as first author, book chapters as first author, popular and research articles as first author, success stories as first author, case studies as first author, invited talks, consultancy services provided, SHGs/Farmers Clubs managed, research and innovative extension technologies devised and disseminated, promotion of organic and natural farming, various projects handled etc for the welfare of the farming community.
Dr Banarsi is the Gold Medalist and an alumnus of Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi. He hails from Kathua district of J&K and has been working at KVK, Reasi for more than 16 years.
