ANANTNAG, Apr 14: The work on renovation of Nagbal Shrine Anantnag has started from today for which Rs 16 lakh were sanctioned by MP Anantnag -Pulwama Parliamentary Constituency, Dr Mehboob Beg.
Dr Mehboob Beg has assured the members of Nagbal Prabhandak Committee Anantnag that he will provide more funds for the renovation of shrine as he is keen that the members of Pandit community should return to their home town and lead a peaceful life as before.
Under the renovation programme the foot paths and surrounding walls of the shrine will be rebuilt in first stage and the rest work will be taken up in hand later on. Dr Beg has also urged the district administration to provide funds to the Prabandhak Committee for the face lift of the shrine.
Dr Beg said Nagbal is an ancient shrine and its protection and development is duty of Government as well as public representatives. He said an initiative was already taken by him on the pursuance of the Committee for renovation of the shrine.
