SRINAGAR, Feb 12: Chairperson of the J&K Waqf Board, Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi, today launched the video album ‘Soun Alamdar’ at a grand function held at Tagore Hall.
The album, based on selected verses (Sheikh-e-Shruki) of the revered saint Nund Reshi, Hazrat Sheikh-ul-Aalam (RA), has been sung and directed by renowned musician and filmmaker Aejaz Rah, in collaboration with Elfa International.
Speaking at the event, Dr Andrabi emphasized the importance of preserving and propagating the teachings of spiritual saints. “Their wisdom and poetry are our treasured heritage, and it is our duty to pass them on to future generations,” she said. She highlighted the role of digital technology and social media in spreading these spiritual messages worldwide.
Dr Andrabi lauded the album as a meaningful effort to connect the younger generation with Kashmir’s spiritual legacy, ensuring that the Kalaam of Alamdar reaches global audiences. She also urged the youth to visit the shrines of Sufi saints to remain connected to their rich spiritual traditions.
Reflecting on the progress made by the Waqf Board, Dr Andrabi stated, “Over the past 35 months, we have transformed spiritual shrines across J&K, with several more projects in progress and in the pipeline.”
The event was graced by prominent personalities, including Director News Doordarshan Salman Qazi, eminent writer and poet Dr Satish Vimal, and Waqf Board member Dr GN Haleem, who attended as guests of honor.
