JAMMU, July 1: Dr. Dushyant Choudhary of Rotary Club Jammu Tawi today took over the reign of Governor of Rotary District 3070 for the year 2022-23, the feat achieved for the first time by a person of J&K origin.
Dr. Choudhary was declared District Governor Nominee Designate on December 31, 2020 when no challenge was suggested by the Rotary Clubs of the District 3070.
The Rotary District 3070 comprises of UTs of J&K, Ladakh and majority of States of Punjab and Himachal Pradesh with around 120 Clubs and 4600 Rotarians.
Dr. Dushyant Choudhary who is a physician specialist by profession, has been elected with big majority after nomination committee elections were held in nine zones of J&K, Himachal and Punjab.
He is Medical Director of Maxx Lyfe Hospital and Trauma Centre, Bathindi, Jammu and his spouse, Dr. Shivani, is a Consultant at GMC Jammu.
In his maiden address as Rotary Governor, he said that Rotary is committed to eradicate polio from the world with focus on various areas of disease prevention, treatment, basic education, maternal and child health, water, peace and conflict prevention etc.
