Dr Iqbal elected Chairman JAKASI

SRINAGAR, Apr 7: Head of the Department of Surgery, GMC Srinagar, Dr. Iqbal Saleem Mir, has been elected as the Chairman of the J&K Chapter of the Association of Surgeons of India (ASI).
The results of the elections, held from March 25-30, were announced by Dr. Nasib Chand Digra, the Election Officer. According to the announcement, the president, vice president, and members of the Executive Committee have been elected.
Dr. Iqbal Saleem Mir has been elected as the Chairman of the J&K Chapter of the Association of Surgeons of India (JAKASI), and Dr. Ajaz A Rather as the Vice-Chairman. Additionally, 16 members from various institutions have been elected as EC members.
The election officer mentioned that Dr. Iqbal Saleem Mir, the newly elected Chairman, will serve a one-year term starting from May 1, 2024, and will automatically become the immediate Past Chairman of JAKASI.
Furthermore, it has been stated that Dr. Ajaz A Rather (Vice Chairman) will assume the role of Chairman from May 1, 2025. However, before assuming this position, he will conduct elections for the Executive Body of 2024-25 as the Election Officer.
