Dr Jitendra donates hospital equipment, announces relief for flood victims

REASI, Apr 12: To provide an immediate succor to the patients undergoing treatment in district Hospital Reasi and Primary Health Centre Arnas, Union Minister in PMO with independent charge of North Eastern States, Dr Jitendra Singh today sanctioned  Laparoscopy surgery machine and sophisticated Digital X-ray machine costing Rs 8 lakh for the District Hospital Reasi. He also announced one X-ray machine for Primary Health Centre Arnas.
The announcement was made by Union Minister during a public meeting here, today. The meeting was attended by district BJP chief, mandal presidents, other office bearers, MLAs and Party’s organization general secretary Ashok Kaul.
Dr Singh also announced opening of KV at Reasi and a proposal in this regard was discussed by Dr Singh with District Development Commissioner Reasi during the meeting today.
He also announced upgradation and providing of computers to 10 cooperative schools in the district which are working on no profit no loss basis. Besides, the toilets for girl children in these schools were also sanctioned by the Union Minister.
He also announced Rs 50 lakh for flood hit people Dera Babar Brahman Panchayat Reasi to develop it on the pattern of a smart village. He said this will be in addition to the amount provided for Saddal village which has been built as a smart village with the cooperation and assistance of some NGOs. He said 30 hutments have already been constructed at Saddal for land slide hit people and the work on smart village will be completed by middle of the year.
Dr Singh asked the partymen to highlight the achievements of Narendra Modi led Government at Centre which is keen for the development of all three regions of the State and this was the reason that BJP joined the coalition for overall development of the State.
He urged the partymen to take the maximum benefit of the favourable environment in the State and work for the betterment of people and development of their respective areas.
He said various developmental projects taken up in hand in the State in general and in Kathua Doda Parliamentary Constituency in particular can be completed with the active cooperation of the workers.
He asked the Partymen to frame the project report which could be followed with the Government.
Later, Dr Singh held a meeting with the district administration. The meeting besides DC Reasi was attended by SSP Reasi, senior officer and members of civil society.
Dr Singh stressed on bridging the communication gap and asked the members of civil society to work in tandem with administration instead of indulging in blame game. He also issued instructions to administration to restore the construction of all roads to be constructed under PMGSY which were closed during last 10 years.
Later, he held at meeting with officers and members of civil society at Katra. The meeting among others was attended by SDM Katra. The members of civil society expressed grave concern over the poor maintenance of Katra market road.
He asked the administration to prepare a detailed report and take up the issue with Urban Development Ministry. He said in case the Ministry will face shortage of funds for construction of the bazaar road he can pay the money from MP’s LAD Fund.
Dr Singh announced that 90 percent of his MP LAD fund was exhausted in last six months  and he can spent the twice the amount for development by raising funds from other possible source.
He said besides Saddal three other villages have been adopted by him which include Sangli in Kathua, Kalota in Doda and Bhattan in Kishtwar and all funds for the development will be made available in Monetary Committee meeting of six DCs of his Constituency at Udhampur tomorrow.
Dr Singh while making a dig at opponents said he is the only MP who has opened a full fledged office in the Constituency and he has placed his report card before National president of the party which can be compared with any public representatives of the country.
Highlighting the new projects taken up in hand in the State in general, and his Constituency in particular, he said IIT and IIM have been sanctioned for Jammu region. In addition to it inauguration of Kidyan Gandyal bridge, technical park at Gatti Kathua, High technical forecast system at Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, 15 FM stations, identification of land at Hiranagar for settlement of border migrants, doubling the salaries of SPOs and VDCs, KV for Jodhpur Gandoh in Doda district, smart villages etc, sulabh toilets for women in border areas are the other achievements of ten months tenure.
BJP organizational general secretary Ashok Koul while speaking on the occasion stressed on strengthening the Party by launching membership drive in farflung and remote areas. He said Party workers should enroll as many members as they could.
MLA Reasi Adv Ajay Nanda in his speech highlights various issues including power, education, tourism, Katra town, Shiv Khori shrine, unemployment etc. He said that it seems that Shrine Board is not using the profits earned by it for the development of Katra town and nearby villages. As the Katra is the financial backbone of the State, it should be developed as modern city.
