UDHAMPUR, Sept 3: Giving Prime Minister Narendra Modi credit for the success of Chandrayaan-3 and Aditya missions, Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh said that world is today ready to be led by India, whereas the situation was opposite to this earlier.
“Gone are the days when India worked under the leadership of other countries. PM Modi has shown the way and established that we are now a nation full of confidence and fit for playing the role of world leader for resolving the global issues of modern age,” he said while talking to media persons on the sidelines of a function in connection with the launching of ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ campaign at Tikri-1B Panchayat in district Udhampur, here today.

In a veiled attack on the previous Governments, Dr Jitendra Singh said that success of Chanderyaan-3 and Aditya have established beyond doubt that India has had no dearth of competence and vision, but the favourable environment which needed to be provided by the national leadership was missing earlier.
“This (favourable environment) has been given by PM Modi only. The way Modi has done was never seen earlier,” said the Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Science & Technology.
While pointing out new vistas opened for India’s space sector through public private partnership model, Dr Jitendra Singh added that the last nine years have witnessed a quantum jump in India’s space journey making India standing at par with NASA, Roscosmos etc, which are now collaborating with ISRO for space expeditions.
“The supremacy which India has evidently demonstrated before the world in terms of its human resource and human caliber through cost effective means despite constrained resources has put India as a frontline nation and a scientific cum economic force to reckon with,” he added.
Dr Jitendra Singh further said that even the world has given credit for all this to PM Narendra Modi for having taken several progressive policy decisions like bringing all the stakeholders together to put in a joint effort with a collective contribution.
Stating that ‘sky is not the limit’ dictum has now become true for India’s Space Sector, the Union Minister said that Chandrayaan-3 and Aditya have spearhead India’s Amrit Kaal growth journey over the next 25 years.
Earlier, the Union Minister launched the ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ campaign, which marks the beginning of the Amrit Kalash Yatras starting all over the country and includes collection of mitti and rice from every household symbolising the participation of the people in the prosperity of the motherland.
Dr Jitendra Singh also urged people to participate in Amrit Kalash Yatras, take the ‘Panch Pran’ pledge, commit to India’s progress and development so as to witness India reaching its zenith in 2047.
Besides PRI representatives of the area, the event was addressed by DDC Chairperson, Lal Chand and Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Saloni Rai.
