Doda, July 27 : During his tour of district Doda today, Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh formally launched online the Goha Marmat Power Receiving Station, thus addressing a long pending complaint of low voltage and frequent power cuts in far flung areas of Marmat block.
Pertinent to mention that the project had been pending since 2011 and it was only after Dr Singh got elected as Member of Parliament for the first time in 2014, the land acquisition, forest clearance and other issues were resolved with his intervention and follow up.
The 3.15 MVA 33/11 KV receiving station along with 20 Kilometer of 33 KV line from 132/33 KV grid station Khellaini was formally launched today by Dr Jitendra Singh and the commissioning and charging of the line will begin from the 3rd of August. The new scheme will benefit a population of nearly 20,000 and will lead to high voltage and stable power supply in whole of block Marmat and part of block Assar.
Speaking on the occasion, Singh said, with two Mega Power Projects, Pakkam Dul and Kiru launched in Kishtwar, coupled with commissioning of new power supply lines, the entire area of the erstwhile district Doda will, in future, be able to get uninterrupted power supply with improved voltage.
Later, chairing of the meeting of district administration and representatives of civil society, Dr Singh disclosed that the work has begun on the new National Highway from Khellani to Goha-Marmat – Sudh Mahadev with a tunnel at enroute. Similarly, the DPR is ready for construction of Kal jugar tunnel from Central fund which will connect Doda-Bhaderwah with Chamba in Himachal Pradesh. Also, the DPR of landmark Chattergala tunnel has been finalized by “SAMPARK” under BRO and this tunnel will connect Lakhanpur to Doda – Bhaderwah through an alternate new National Highway, he added.
On the occasion Dr Jitendra Singh also took a review of the security situation in the district, the status of the VDCs and SPOs.
He issued instructions to district administration to prepare a proposal for implementation of Government of India’s newly launched “Jal Shakti Abhiyan”. He also inquired about the status of other important schemes like “Ayushman Bharat and “PM KISAN”.
Former minister Shakti Parihar, District Development Commissioner Sagar Dattatreya and senior officials of the administration were also present on the occasion.
