JAMMU, Apr 10: MoS PMO Dr Jitendra Singh released Saptarishi calendar, first ever guide book on Mata Kheer Bhawani Yatra, Vijeshwara Almanac for USA and Canada Regions and a book on Roopa Dedh (Life history and teachings of Mata Roop Bhawani) by Kamal Peshi at a event organized by Vishwa Kashmiri Samaj at Lalded Auditorium Pamposh Enclave, New Delhi.
The Minister also felicitated winners of a ‘Letter Writing Competition for KP Children Who Never Lived in Kashmir’ organized by Global Solace (NGO) Jammu with Vishwa Kashmiri Samaj and other partners. The theme was ‘My Kashmir, My Roots: My Dream, Sweet Home’. Dr Singh released the top six letters of the competition and also accepted these letters for presentation to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“Vishwa Kashmiri Samaj, a socio-cultural voluntary organisation spread all over the globe and headquartered at Jammu has been engaged in the smooth conduct to Mata Kheer Bhavani Yatra for past several years and used this occasion to galvanize pilgrims as the annual yatra will resume this year after two years”, said VKS Convenor Kiran Wattal in his welcome address.
The event was also graced by Chander Mohan, Mayor Jammu and Raj Nehru, Vice Chancellor Vishwakarma Skill University Haryana.
On the occasion, VKS and members of other committees demanded passing and support to Genocide Bill tabled in the parliament, enhancement of relief upto the tune of Rs 6000 per soul per month, special recruitment drive in J&K Police with age relaxation and other departments, compensation to over aged youth, sufficient accommodation to all PM package employees in Kashmir valley, compensation to left over property at the rate Rs 3 lakh per annum and tabling and passage of Temples and Shrines Bill.
Among those felicitated on the occasion included community hotelier Ramesh Kumar Kichloo, Shali Rupali Tourism Federation of Jammu, National Coordinator, Vanshikha Bhat and Sagar Koup.
Pintoo, President, Global Solace compared the event, while the vote of thanks was presented by Kanwal Peshin, Founder Athrott Group.
Haresh Raina, Kartik Bhat, Khushboo Bhan in senior category and Harsh Bhat, Neil Garoo and Kadambari Bhat in junior category were given cash prize for letter competition.
