Dr Jitendra Singh said “Modi Government has changed the face of Udhampur which has emerged as one of the most developed constituencies of the country in last 10 years”.
Maintaining that Udhampur was the strong hold of Jana Sangh during the time of Sher Duggar Pt Prem Nath Dogra, and veteran leaders, Prof Chaman Lal Gupta and Lala Shivcharan Gupta, Dr Jitendra Singh reiterated that BJP is committed to fulfill their dreams.
He said PM Narendra Modi is very concerned for welfare of J&K and he is well versed with the problems of the people of the UT as he has served as party general secretary here.
Lambasting the opposition for their misleading statements about BJP and Prime Minister, Dr Jitendra Singh said unlike them “we are not a dynastic party but a cadre based organization where leaders and activists jointly work for the welfare of the people and country.”
Dr Jitendra Singh said, there are certain critics and cynics who say they cannot see any development in 10 years but at the same time shamelessly avail the utility of all the new projects set up in the last 10 years. Those denying development are themselves taking its benefit.
The Minister said that earlier, Udhampur was known to be a “place of pedestrians” and there were Dogri folk songs written on ” Udhampure diyan Takkiyan” but under the Modi Government, Udhampur has emerged as country’s top three districts in PMGSY road construction even in remotest areas.
He said, “Among over 700 districts in the country, Udhampur has become one of the top three districts which has the most number of roads built under PMGSY”.
Dr Jitendra Singh informed that the district has now its own radio station for which a demand was raised in 1965, but this genuine demand was never fulfilled by the earlier Governments. Not only this, Udhampur has a passport office now, he said.
“For the first time, a 9.5 kilometre National Tunnel named after Shyama Prasad Mukherjee has been constructed in this district, and North India’s first river rejuvenation project undertaken at river Devika undertaken here”, the Minister said.
Dr Jitendra Singh said this constituency is in near future all set to become a tourist-cum-religious pilgrim destination as well as a centre for learning.
Dr Jitendra Singh underlined that rising above narrow considerations of caste, creed and region, Narendra Modi Government’s first term was focused on overcoming the shortcomings of the previous governments. In the second term, the Government dedicated itself to laying the foundation of a developed India. Now, in its third, the Government will solidify its gains and march ahead in the journey of realising Narendra Modi’s vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047.
Talking about the success of Lavender revolution in Bhaderwah area of district Doda, Dr Singh said its cultivation is now being taken up in Basantgarh-Dudu area of Udhampur given its success. He said this region was unknown to the concept of start-ups, but in the last few years it has emerged as a hub of agri start-ups. More and more youth are giving up their secured Government jobs and are now joining the Aroma Mission which offers lucrative opportunities to increase their income the sale of perfumes which selling at high costs not only in the country but also abroad.
The Minister exuded confidence that while in the upcoming general elections, Narendra Modi will return to power, with 400 seats, the voters of Udhampur-Kathua-Doda Lok Sabha seat are going to script a new record by bestowing a 5 lakh plus record margin on Dr Jitendra Singh, and tumble the previous record voter turnout here. In the last election, this constituency had a record victory margin since the Independence, which was the highest in the history of Jammu and Kashmir in 2019″, Dr Singh said.
Addressing the rally, Tarun Chugh accused the Congress led UPA Alliance of looting the nation during its rule from 2004 to 2014. “It was a puppet Government run by Dr Manmohan Singh as everything was done by UPA chairperson, Sonia Gandhi from 10 Janpath”, he added.
Chugh said it was the Government of scandals and hardly there was any day when the scandals did not take place during UPA rule. The Ministers were involved in looting the nation and they were also jailed, he added.
The economy of the country was in shambles as under this corrupt regime Rs 12 lakh crore were looted and there was hardly any day when the scam related news was not published by the dailies of country.
Chugh said in 2013, BJP took a decision to rid the country from this misrule and corrupt Government and the party gave a transparent and people’s friendly Government after Narendra Modi took over as Prime Minister in 2014.
He said the nation is fast moving ahead since then and it is going to emerge among the top economies of the world with India’s prestige increasing in the comity of nations.
Chugh said there has been a sea change in the ground situation in J&K and the Modi Government replaced the gun with pen and computer. People in Kashmir valley realize the change and they too want Modi to come to power again as they are fed up with dynasts who exploited the common masses for their vested political interests.
J&K BJP vice president, Pawan Khajuria and Chander Mohan Gupta, party chief spokesperson Sunil Sethi, co incharge Ramesh Kumar, former Minister, Pawan Gupta, former MLAs, R S Pathania and Balwant Singh Mankotia addressed the rally.
