JAMMU, Dec 27: Eminent poet, writer, and scholar Dr Jitendra Udhampuri, who is also a recipient of the Padma Shri and Sahitya Akademi Award, unveiled the Urdu book “Jammu Kashmir Ke Sikhun ke Twarikhey Gurdwarey” by renowned historian Dr Jasbir Singh Sarna.
Dr Udhampuri, who retired as the Deputy Director General of All India Radio, praised the book, describing it as a unique and valuable document on the legacy of the Sikh Gurus.
He said, “The book provides reliable information and is a testament to Dr Sarna’s scholarly dedication. The vivid descriptions bring the historical Gurdwaras and scriptures to life, offering a timeless message of love, unity, and devotion.”
Dr Udhampuri further expressed his gratitude for Dr Sarna’s meticulous research and historical approach, acknowledging the book’s significant contribution to understanding Sikh faith, identity, and heritage.
Dr Jasbir Singh Sarna, an acclaimed writer with over 63 published works, is widely respected for his efforts in promoting Punjabi literature and Sikh heritage, particularly in Jammu and Kashmir.
He has received prestigious awards from the J&K Academy and the Punjab Languages Department.
The release of this book is expected to resonate with scholars, historians, and anyone interested in the rich history of Sikhism and the legacy of Guru Nanak and his successors.
