JAMMU, June 18: With the intervention of Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh, much demanded stop of Delhi-Jammu Rajdhani Express at Kathua is being restored from July 1.
This popular demand has been conceded by giving relaxation in the norms, according to which a super fast train is not stopped within 20 kms.
The issue was placed before the concerned authorities by Dr Jitendra Singh, who represents Kathua-Udhampur-Doda Parliamentary constituency in the Lok Sabha, and accordingly the Minister of Railway, Ashwani Kumar issued the order to resume the stoppage of Rajdhani Express at Kathua from July 1, 2022.
Conveying his thanks to the Railway Minister and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Dr Jitendra tweeted: “Celebration #Kathua! #RajdhaniExpress stop restored. Yet another reiteration of PM @narendramodi Ji’s deep personal and sensitive concern for #JammuAndKashmir.”
Pertinent to mention that this popular demand was being raised by locals of Kathua and its adjoining areas as in absence of stoppage by the Delhi-Jammu Rajdhani Express, they were forced to board or de-board the train either at Pathankot or Jammu.
According to Dr Jitendra Singh, he was committed to take up the issues and demands of people of Jammu Kashmir, particularly of Kathua-Udhampur-Doda Parliamentary, which is being represented by him in the Lok Sabha for the last eight years.
