JAMMU, Apr 16: Reacting sharply to the repeated and failed attempts of the Congress to mislead the people for seeking their votes in Udhampur-Doda-Kathua Parliamentary Constituency, BJP State spokesperson, Balbir Ram Rattan has advised the party leaders to stop befooling the people as they are well aware that their constituency has, for the first time, witnessed real development in last five years under the sitting MP and Union Minister, Dr. Jitendra Singh.
It is indeed very funny that during the whole election campaign, neither the Congress candidate nor any leader of the party has come out even with their achievements in 25 years period when Congress represented the constituency in Lok Sabha for more than two decades. Their only one line agenda remained confined to lies and befool the people by just targeting BJP candidate, whose record development in five years has frustrated Congress and its leaders are not able to face the public.
Balbir asked the Congress leaders to first visit the constituency spread over a large area, themselves see the ground development and only then comment. It would be fair for them if they go and see the numerous bridges, medical colleges, passport offices, degree colleges, engineering college, recreation and dream land parks, highway villages, power projects, community halls, war memorial, mega road connectivity projects, upgraded railway stations, post offices, Devika Rejuvenation Project etc, which will turn them speechless and they would regret for having done nothing in matters of development and public welfare during their tenures as representatives of the constituency.
The State spokesperson expressed confidence that the BJP candidate, Dr. Jitendra Singh, who is seeking votes for the second term, will give a thrashing defeat to Congress. He said that the public mood and enthusiasm among the youth in particular, is going to write a new chapter in the politics of Jammu Kashmir that the parties with double standards cannot be trusted and that BJP needs to be given another chance in the interest of the nation and accelerating development.
Meanwhile, ex MLA and senior BJP leader Baldev Raj Sharma said that people in remote and far-flung areas of the Constituency are highly impressed by BJP’s performance.
In a statement issued here, today he said the people in these areas rubbish the opposition allegations that the MP lacked connection with masses saying that the cooking gas reached the poor and down trodden, houses were constructed for houseless and Rs 2000 were deposited in the accounts of poor and marginal farmers which was all done due to the efforts of their MP and they will enmass vote for him.
Sharma, who visited some far off areas in Gool Arnas , Gulabhgarh, Pouni, Dharmadi etc said people of these areas said that in last 70 years it was for the first time that they found that some one in Government is concerned for their welfare.
