JAMMU, Dec 18: Dr. M. Ravi Kanth, Chairman & Managing Director, HUDCO inaugurated the HUDCO Bhawan at Rail Head Complex, here, today. The other local dignitaries including  Rajesh Kumar Shavan, , Vice-Chairman, JDA, Dr. Manmohan Singh,  Managing Director, J&K Housing Board, officers of SBI,  Amanullah Tak, Jt. Controller Communication Accounts, DoT and general public across all sections of society were also present on this occasion.
CMD HUDCO in his address assured full participation of HUDCO in various development activities of the State. HUDCO, being one of the Central Nodal Agencies, for Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna (PMAY), Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme (CLSS) has entered MoU with 69 banks in all over the country, including four banks of J&K State and so far released an amount of Rs.115.00 lakh of subsidy for CLSS. CMD stressed the need for clearing the long pending default of J&K Co-operative Housing Corporation for further lending to the State of Jammu & Kashmir and he sought the co-operation of all the concerned in this regard.
Dr Kanth said that Jammu HUDCO office is one of the most beautiful offices and appreciated the efforts of all the employees of Regional Office.  Jammu Development Authority (JDA) has sought the financial assistance of HUDCO for its upcoming beautification of Tawi River Front on the lines of Sabarmati River Front Project in Ahmedabad, wherein HUDCO funded the project for Gujarat Government and CMD of HUDCO inspected the location for Tawi River Project along with JDA officials.
Song & Drama Division of Jammu Kendra presented cultural programme highlighting patriotic songs on the occasion, which was appreciated by one & all present.
HUDCO, a Government of India Enterprise under the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs, is a premier techno-financing institution in the field of Housing and Urban Development in India. Since its inception in 1970, HUDCO continues its mission of improving access to housing for all and providing sustainable infrastructure in human settlements, to improve the living conditions of people at large.  HUDCO has so far assisted 117 projects in Jammu & Kashmir with loan assistance of Rs.547.00 crore.
To give more momentum to the developmental activities in the State, HUDCO has opened one of its Regional Office at HUDCO Bhawan, Rail Head Complex, Jammu (J&K) in 2000.
