Dr Karan Singh releases magazine of ICCR Jammu

NEW DELHI, June 12: Dr Karan Singh, President Indian Council for Cultural Relations, released the International class magazine ‘Ist Eventful year of ICCR Jammu’ at Mansarovar, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi.
This fifty two page coloured magazine is compiled and edited by Balwant Thakur, the Regional Director of Indian Council for Cultural Relations, Jammu and artistically designed by a local artist Chander Shekhar.
Published by ICCR Jammu, this magazine is comprised of detailed features supported by pictures of the events organized by ICCR during its first year in Jammu. Dr Karan Singh complimented and appreciated Balwant Thakur for producing this unique document which is aimed at projecting and disseminating information about the artists and arts of this region at the global arena.
On the occasion, Balwant Thakur informed that this magazine will find a respectable place in all the libraries of the Embassies of foreign countries in India and the Indian Embassies abroad in addition to the Indian Cultural Centres of ICCR situated in different countries.
He further informed that through this humble initiative of ICCR Jammu, an effort has been made to give the arts and artists of Jammu an International projection, exposure and platform. Through this, not only we have documented their art but also have tried to take their work to the global level. Balwant Thakur thanked J&K Tourism Department in supporting this endeavour of ICCR, Jammu.
