JAMMU, Sept 30: Dr KD’s Eye Hospital, Sainik Colony and Hoya Company today introduced Vivinex Lens for cataract patients in Jammu.
The Lens was formally introduced by Dr JP Singh and Nitin Choudhary, Manager, Hoya Company.
While introducing Vivinex Lens, Dr JP Singh said, “Till now cataract patients were operated by making 3.2mm of space in the eyes but Vivinex Lens can be placed into the eye only by making only 1.8 mm of apace in the eye”.
Dr Singh further said, “The special feature of this lens is that without touching it can be placed directly into the eye through a pre-loaded technique. There are very rare chances of eruption of ‘Jhilli’ if this lens is used. On the top of that, this lens increases the quality of sight.”
While speaking on the occasion, Nitin Choudhary, said that usually after operation, ‘Jhilli’ starts becoming thick due to which the patient faces difficulty in seeing things but due to use of this lens such problem did not occur.
He said that made up with Japanese technology, Vivinex Lens is being provided in India by Hoya Company, which is working in this field for more than 70 years. “This lens is first provided in J&K and Punjab at Dr KD’s Eye Hospital”, he added.
Naman Chopra was also present on the occasion.
