JAMMU, Nov 8: Associate Professor and Head Department of Electrical Engineering Dr Nitin Langer at Model Institute of Engineering and Technology (MIET), Kot Bhalwal received the prestigious “ISTE Best Teacher Award-2015” during ISTE North Section Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony hosted by Rayat Institute of Engineering and Information Technology, Railmajra, Ropar, Punjab.
Dr Nitin Langer was adjudged as best teacher on the basis of his impressive and result oriented teaching skills, impressive academic record which include award of Gold Medal for being top scorer in Masters Degree and significant research contribution. These include 22 quality research publications which found the much deserved place in various International SCI journals with high impact factor including “Google Scholar Top Citations” list of top most international journals such as IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, IET Power Electronics and IJEPES-Elseveir. Effectiveness of his work is also reflected in statistics which are consistently improving and are summarized as cumulative impact factor of 18.86, h-Index of 03, citations -17 as per Google search with number of downloads exceeding 730 and Research gate score of 13.84. His deep probing in research has also resulted in the filing of one Patent under Intellectual property rights, published in Indian Patent Office, New Delhi, India.
Dr MS Grewal, Founder Registrar, IKG Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar and Gurvinder Singh Bahra, Chairman, Rayat-Bahra Group of Institutes gave the award to the recipient. Dr SC Bedi, Campus Director, RBGI and Dr JC Laoryi, Principal, RBGI were also present.
Dr Langer after receiving the award also presented a research paper for encouraging the students/ scholars to push themselves towards innovative and conceptual research in order to excel in research domain with minimum financial implications. His presentation was very interactive owing to which, Dr Langer was honored with “Best Paper Award at IKG-PTU Sponsored National Seminar on Trends and Innovation in Management, Engineering Education and Sciences (TIME2S)-2015”.
