Dr Manhas nominated member Sahitya Akademi Board

JAMMU, Dec 25: Dr Nasib Singh Manhas has been nominated as Member of Sahitya Akademi’s Advisory Board of Film Archives.
Dr. Manhas is a highly decorated IBPS officer who retired as Director Doordarshan and is a renowned Dogri writer, artist, filmmaker & culture activist of J&K.
Besides Doctorate in Dogri folk lore, MBA in HR, Master in Music & Journalism, he has written several books & patriotic songs on dogra heroes and J&K.
Dr Manhas is the maker of several TV serials, documentaries & telefilms. One of his milestone production is a historical docu-drama on Saviour of Kashmir Brig Rajinder Singh.
He has promoted thousands of artists, writers and culture activists.
During his tenure as Director DD Kashmir at Srinagar, Dr Manhas gave platforms to the artists of remote areas, to promote traditional folk forms of Bhand Pather, Ladi Shah and Sufi Music of Jammu & Kashmir.
He also provided appropriate slots to Kashmiri, Dogri, Gojri, Pahadi, Panjabi, Sheena and Balti languages and artists.
