Jammu, Jan 25: Regional cum Facilitation Centre Northern Region II, NMPB, Ministry of AYUSH and Sher-e- Kashmir University of Agriculture Sciences and Technology of Kashmir in collaboration with JIAR, Jammu organised Seminar Cum Awareness Program On Diversity, Conservtion & Livelihood Security Through Important Himalayan Medicinalplants in the Conference Hall of Jammu jiar.
The seminar commenced with Deep Prajvalan and Dhanvantari Vandana. Prof Sheikh Bilal Ahmed, Regional Director RCFC Northern Region Jammu delivered the welcome address. Chief guest Dr Mohan Singh, and Director AYUSH J&K & CEO SMPB J&K delivered inaugural address. He gave beneficial inputs regarding entrepreneurship in the field of medicinal plants to the faculty and students. Suman Sharma, Chairperson, Sain Charitable trust for Higher Education and Research,Jammu, Japna Sharma,CEO and DR.Nitin Mahajan,Vice Principal falicitated the Chief guest.
Guest of Honours for the seminar were Dr. O P Sharma former Director Ecology, Enviroment and Remote Sensing & Dr Sharada Principal JIAR. Guest speakers were Dr L.M Gupta, Professor and Head, Division of Forestry, SKUAST, Jammu,Dr Wahid-UL-Hassan, Nodal officer, ISM, Jammu, Dr Prabhakar Shukla, Asstt Professor Dept of Dravyaguna, JIAR and Dr Anamika Gupta, Asstt Professor Department of Dravyaguna. They delivered lectures on the related topics. PG students presented papers.
Vote of thanks was given by Dr.Manu Sharma, Associate Professor. The students thanked management and teachers for organising such knowledgeable events.
