JAMMU, May 12: Dr Mrinal Gupta, a practicing dermatologist (skin specialist) from Jammu, brought laurels to the state by being selected for the prestigious Imrich Sarkany Scholarship by the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology (EADV) at their annual spring symposium at Budva, Montenegro, recently.
A total of six dermatologists from around the world were selected for this scholarship and he was the only Indian among the selected. The scholarship was presented at a ceremony during the conference which was attended by more than 1200 dermatologists from across the globe.
It is considered one of the most coveted scholarships in the field of dermatology and he is the first dermatologist from the state to have received this award.
An alumnus of Government Medical College, Jammu, Dr Mrinal Gupta has been also awarded the prestigious Indian Association of Dermatology, Venereology and Leprology (IADVL) Fellowship in Paediatric Dermatology and Association of Cutaneous Surgeons of India (ACSI) Training fellowship in Dermatosurgery under India’s leading dermatologist Dr Venkatram Mysore.
