JAMMU, Dec 5: Dr Mukesh Chugh, a consultant anaesthetist based in UK, who hails from Shastri Nagar area of Jammu, has been awarded the prestigious BB-Mahatma Gandhi Award 2024.
The honour was in recognition of his outstanding contributions to promoting Indian culture, heritage, and fostering interfaith harmony.
A statement said that the award ceremony took place at the UK House of Lords, with Health Minister of Uttarakhand, Dr Dhan Singh Rawat, Dr Hans, and Baroness Sandip Verma, presenting the award.
Along with the recognition, Dr Chugh was also draped in a traditional white shawl, known as a “Siroba,” a symbol of respect and honour.
Dr Chugh’s work made a significant impact in bridging cultural gaps and promoting peace, making him a true ambassador of Indian values abroad.
