JAMMU, Sept 6: Dr Nirmal Singh, senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former Deputy Chief Minister conducted a meeting of conveners and co conveners of Border Welfare, Ex-Servicemen and Village Defence Committee cells of the party to review their functioning here, today.
Dr Nirmal Singh is the Prabhari of these three Cells and today’s meeting was attended by State convener, Ex-Servicemen Cell, Col (retd) Gurbaksh Singh; convener Border Cell, Brijeshwar Rana; convener, VDC Cell, Basant Thakur and co-conveners, Col (retd) Satnam Singh, Col (retd) Sharma, Col (retd) Roshan Lal and Jai Singh.
The meeting commenced with the welcome address by Rakesh Mahajan, Incharge, All Cells BJP J&K who briefed Dr Nirmal Singh about the working of these Cells being carried out by the dedicated team members. This was followed by a detailed discussion between Dr Nirmal Singh and other leaders on Party’s future programmes.
While addressing the conveners and co-conveners on the occasion, Dr Nirmal Singh highlighted the significance of the Cells in BJP’s hierarchy cadre. He said that Cells are proactive connections between the party and the people falling under respective Cells and are the backbone of the party. As such the Cell conveners, co-conveners and other office bearers have a very crucial role to play by addressing the issues of the respective sections of the society and further strengthening the party at every level.
Dr Singh stressed upon the conveners and co-conveners to ensure that the benefits of schemes launched by the Modi Government reach the sections of the society covered under the three cells at the grassroot level.
He informed them that soon a programme will be organized at Ramgarh Border in district Samba as part of the ongoing Pakhwada celebrations of PM Modi’s birthday in which Veer Naris, Gallantry awardees and other IB youth beneficiaries will be felicitated.
Rakesh Mahajan while addressing the occasion complimented Dr Nirmal Singh for providing valuable guidance and suggestions for making the Cells the most proactive units of the party. He assured the Prabhari that the working of Cells would be further paced up in the coming days under his guidance in order to achieve the targets set for these Cells.
Acknowledging that the Party has entrusted a major responsibility to the Cells, he assured Dr Nirmal Singh that these cells will leave no stone unturned in relentlessly working for the unprecedented success of the party in the impending Assembly elections.
