Dr Nirupam from Jammu becomes 1st woman MS at AIIMS Delhi

JAMMU, Jan 20: India’s top central tertiary care hospital, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) New Delhi got its first woman Medical Superintendent (MS) in the 68-year history of the Institute.
Dr Nirupam Madaan, who hails from Jammu, has been appointed MS and holds the distinction of being the first woman in 68 years history of AIIMS to hold such a position.
She is an alumnus of Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu after which she obtained her MD in Hospital Administration from SKIMS Kashmir, from where she got selected for senior residency at AIIMS New Delhi.
Dr Nirupam hails from a family of achievers who have been eminent educationists and technocrats over the last 3 generations and given yeoman service in nation building. She is following tradition by excelling in her chosen field of service.
She has earlier served as additional Medical Superintendent of JPNA Trauma Centre which was then the designated COVID hospital of AIIMS. She stands recognized for steering the Hospital and consequently all patients through those tough COVID times.
