JAMMU, Feb 28: Dr HS Paul, Delhi Bureau Chief of Daily Excelsior, Jammu has been elected as vice chairman of Executive Council of Public Relations Society of India (PRSI), Delhi Chapter, the elections of which were held recently at Press Club of India, New Delhi.
Naresh Kumar GM (CC), POWERGRID, was voted as chairman of PRSI Public Relation Society of India, Delhi Chapter. Other committee members elected were S S Rao, AGM (CC), PFC, Dr HS Paul, Delhi Bureau Chief, Daily Excelsior, Jammu, Sarvesh Tiwari, Managing Director, PR Professionals, JP Sharma, Former DGM (PR), NTPC, Akshat Chopra, PRO, POWERGRID and Tanvi Singhal, Senior Executive (CC), Rural Electrification of Corporation (REC).
In its first meeting of Executive Council held today, the chairman and committee appointed Dr HS Paul as vice chairman, SS Rao as general secretary, Sarvesh Tiwari as joint secretary and JP Sharma as treasurer. Further, Executive Council co-opted GS Bawa, former GM (PR), AAI, KN Dhawan, Advisor, Communication, SCOPE, J P Dhoundiyal, Ex-DGM THDC and presently Head of Media Cell, Union Minister of State for Power, NRE (IC) and Sushma Gaur, AGM (CC) NHSRCL, as its members.
Public Relations Society of India (PRSI), the national association of PR practitioners was established in 1958 to promote the recognition of public relations as a profession and to formulate and interpret to the public the objectives and the potentialities of public relations as a strategic management function. The management of the PRSI is vested in the National Council, consisting of representatives elected by all the regional chapters. The members of the society are public relations practitioners from multinationals, public and private sector, academics and PR consultants.
