JAMMU, Dec 20: The Department of Culture, Government of Jammu and Kashmir, has appointed Dr Javaid Rahi, a distinguished author and Chief Editor of the Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, as the new Secretary of Kala Kendra Society, Jammu.
A Government order was issued today in this regard assigning him the responsibilities of the Secretary of Kala Kendra Society, in addition to his existing role as Chief Editor of Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages.
Kala Kendra Society, established by the Government of J&K in 2006, plays a pivotal role in promoting, propagating, and preserving various forms of visual arts, including painting, sculpture, photography, folk arts, and crafts. The Society also provides a platform for performing arts such as theatre, dance, and music, with a specific focus on regional arts.
Dr Javaid Rahi is a nationally recognized author and researcher with an impressive portfolio of accomplishments. He holds the distinction of having authored two dozen research books, and edited/compiled three hundred books. His expertise extends to compiling four monolingual dictionary projects.
