JAMMU, Oct 31: J&K Orthopaedic Association (JKOA) here today elected its officer bearers with Dr Rajesh Gupta, Prof and Head Department of Orthopaedics ASCOMS & Hospital being elected unopposed as new president of the Association.
Dr Altaf Ahmed Kawoosa, Prof. Bone & Joint Hospital Barzulla, Srinagar was elected as secretary of the Association for a period of two years.
A handout stated that in all, ten nominations were received for various posts wherein three nominations were withdrawn by the candidates themselves and the candidates for executive committee were elected unopposed.
Dr Sanjeev Gupta, Professor and Head Department of Orthopaedics GMC Jammu was elected as vice president while Dr Abdul Ghani, Professor Department of Orthopaedics GMC Jammu; Dr Saheel Majeed, Professor Department of Orthopaedics SKIMS Medical College Bemina; Dr Deepak Tickoo and Dr M.S Tara were elected as executive members.
The treasurer of JKOA will be appointed by the executive committee as per its governing laws.
The results were announced by election observers Dr Lovi Padha and Dr Rashid Anjum who oversaw all the process.
Dr Rajesh Gupta took over from incumbent Dr Naseer Ahmed Mir, Professor and Head Department of Orthopaedics SKIMS.
