JAMMU, Apr 29: Renowned surgeon, Dr Ranjit Singh, successfully performed a knee replacement surgery on 70-year-old Gurmail Kaur at Nayyar Super Speciality Hospital in Amritsar.
Dr Singh is an Oxford-trained surgeon with over 16,000 successful surgeries to his credit and a 100% success rate. His innovative “Zero Error technique” was used in the surgery, which resulted in minimal cuts and almost no blood loss, allowing the patient to resume walking within a few hours of the surgery.
Knee replacement surgeries are becoming increasingly common and are recommended in cases of structural damage due to wear and tear, osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis.
However, it is crucial that the surgeon is experienced and skilled in the procedure, especially when complications such as obesity, hypertension and diabetes are present.
Dr Singh’s technique has proven to be a boon for people in neighboring provinces who would previously travel to cities like Delhi or Mumbai for surgeries.
