Dr Shakti Gupta becomes first Indian to get international award by IRECP

JAMMU, Mar 3: Dr Shakti Kumar Gupta, Head of the Hospital Administration-cum Medical Superintendent at AIIMS, New Delhi, has brought laurels to the State as he become the first Indian to be bestowed with the International Partner of the Year Award by Institute of Rescue Engineering and Civil Protection, Cologne, University of Applied Science Germany.
Dr Gupta, who currently chairs the National Ambulance Code Committee, has been closely collaborating with this Institute of Rescue Engineering for the past several years in the fields of Ambulance Design, Emergency, Medical Services, Disaster Response etc. He was earlier appointed as Consultant to the Government of Maharshtra for designing the Emergency Medical Services System for the state, including detailed design and specifications of 937 world class ambulances.
As an outcome of this collaboration, five research fellows from the Institute of Rescue Engineering in Germany have come to India to do their Internship under the guidance of Dr Shakti Gupta.
