JAMMU, Dec 9: In a significant move for Jammu and Kashmir, the National Loktantrik Party (NLP), established a few months ago, recently held its first major event in the Jammu region.
Dr Suhail Choudhary, National president (executive) of NLP, addressed a press conference in Jammu, presenting a multi-pronged, people-focused vision for the party. He emphasized that if the NLP comes to power, it will facilitate comprehensive progress and prosperity.
“As education is the cornerstone of civilization, we will ensure that the benefits of education reach every corner of J&K. Through education, our youth can make significant progress. We will provide free education for the children of the less fortunate, ensuring they are not deprived of this vital resource,” he said and also announced plans for free medical treatment across J&K for all citizens.
Terming unemployment a major issue for the region’s youth, exacerbated by three decades of turmoil, post-abrogation scenarios, and the Coronavirus pandemic, Dr Choudhary declared, “The NLP will spare no effort in creating employment opportunities, particularly for the educated youth of J&K”.
Further, Dr Choudhary acknowledged the burden of inflation and price rise on the residents of J&K and assured that the Party would implement measures to alleviate these issues if elected. He criticized the frequent toll taxes in the form of toll plazas every 15 or 20 kilometers and pledged that the NLP would address this significant concern.
He emphasized the urgent need to restore statehood to J&K, declaring this a key solution to many problems and vowing that the party would strive to achieve this goal.
