Dr Sushil bags Double Helical National Health Award 2017

JAMMU, May 31: With an aim to acknowledge the extraordinary contribution of doctors and allied professionals hailing from all over the country, Double Helical, India’s leading health magazine, announced the winners of Double Helical National Health Awards 2017 at Hotel Lalit, New Delhi on Monday evening. More than 400 doctors and eminent persons from other fields witnessed the glittering awards ceremony organised to encourage healthcare professionals to do quality work and contribute towards realization of the goal of Health for All.
J P Nadda, Union Minister for Health and Family Affairs graced the awards ceremony as chief guest, accompanied by  Mridula Sinha, Governor of Goa;  Sharad Tripathi, MP (Lok Sabha), Uttar Pradesh, and  Shamsher Singh Manhas, MP (Rajya Sabha), Jammu and Kashmir as guests of honour.
The different award categories acknowledged the efforts of the who’s who of the Indian Healthcare Sector for their outstanding achievements in providing the best medical care with a healing touch. Dr Sushil Kumar Sharma renowned cardiologist and social worker of the State has been awarded with the Double Helical National Health Award in the category of Excellence in delivery of Cardiology Services across the State. He is credited with the establishment of Intervention Programme in GMC, Jammu and performed more than 10,000 simple and complex procedures. It is worthwhile to mention here that Dr. Sushil heralded a new era in the field of preventive cardiology by organising health check up cum awareness camps in every nook and corner of the State.
