JAMMU, Sept 17: In a momentous achievement, Dr Vishal Sharma, has been bestowed with the prestigious “Young Achiever Award in Science & Technology.”
Son of Kanta Devi and late Shruti Pal Sharma, Dr Sharma, who hails from Basohli, District Kathua, was presented with the remarkable honour by Dr Jitendra Singh, MoS in PMO, for his exceptional contributions at both national and international levels in the field of Science and Technology.
Currently serving as the Head of the Department of Electronics at Maulana Azad Memorial College, Jammu, Dr Vishal Sharma’s journey is one of dedication and commitment.
He has been a beacon of inspiration, instilling a scientific mindset among the students of Jammu and Kashmir. His numerous articles in newspapers and magazines, along with his orchestration of various scientific events, have played a pivotal role in motivating young minds and encouraging start-ups in the region.
Furthermore, Dr Sharma’s initiatives have been instrumental in cultivating an ecosystem of innovation and entrepreneurship within the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.
The recognition was bestowed upon him during the Youth Conclave held in Jammu from September 16th to 17th, 2023, organized by the CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine, Jammu, under the aegis of the Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India.
Dr Vishal Sharma’s accolades extend internationally, as he is a Fulbright Climate Fellow in the USA, a Commonwealth Fellow in the UK, and a Global Goals Ambassador for the United Nations (UN) association of the USA.
His journey, from humble beginnings in Basohli to becoming a leading figure in electronics and innovation, serves as an inspiring example of what can be achieved through unwavering determination, passion, and a commitment to positively impact society.
His story is a source of motivation for the youth of Jammu & Kashmir, showcasing the heights that can be reached through hard work and dedication.
