Dr Wani bags Waqaar-e-Adab award in Maharashtra

JAMMU, June 26: Dr Mushtaq Ahmed Wani, a well known short story writer, critic and researcher of the State and expert in Feminist Literature has brought laurels to the State by receiving ‘Waqaar-e-Adab’ award from Anjuman Taraqqui-e-Urdu (Hind), Malegaon, at Malegaon in Maharashtra.
The award was presented to Dr Wani by Taraqqui-e-Urdu in collaboration with Maharashtra State Urdu Sahitya Academy for his richest contribution to Urdu Literature, on June 22, 2014.
The award was presented in the shape of Rs 3000 cash, a memento, a shawl and a certificate of honour.
Before receiving the award, Dr Wani presented his paper on the topic ‘Urdu Afsancha Mein Insani Nafseeyat Aur Mashray Ki Akassi’ and a short story – ‘Ak Aham Sawaal’.
All the literary personalities of Malegaon including Prof Abdul Hafeez Ansari, Prof Abdul Majeed Siddiqui, Khayal Ansari, Ronak Jamaal, Shair Kalim, Ahmed Usmani, DR Azeem Rahi and Saleem Shahzad were present.
