Drama festival on ‘Mitthu Ki Azadi’ organised

Jammu, May 30: Parakeets live happily in the natural environment, not in the cages and this thought is very important for people to know. For this, The Himalayan Avian organized a drama festival on Mitthu Ki Azadi at NIC Centre Jambu Zoo. This was the part of campaign , launched a few year ago.
Drama Festival was organised where more than 55 students staged 15 plays. Programme was organised on the eve of Ist anniversary of Jambu Zoo jointly by Jambu Zoo, The Himalayan Avian and J&K Wildlife Protection Department where Addl Director Jambu Zoo Anil Atri was chief guest.
During the drama festival, students also narrated the suffering of the caged parrot. Most of the students said that people should now give up the habit of keeping parrots in cages, because no one has the right to imprison these birds.
Some children staged many dramas to give a comparative review of parrots kept in an open environment and cages. During the Programme, Dr. Taran, former Superintendent of Govt Ayurvedic Hospital Jammu, Rajesh Gupta Secretary Chamber of Commerce & Industry Jammu, Darshan Mehra, Guldev Raj, Uttam Chand Sharma, Prof Ashok Kumar and Rishi Paul were present.
