Dress Code introduced for Govt employees

BANGALORE, Sept 14: Karnataka Government has introduced a dress code for its employees with immediate  effect.

In a notification, while female employees were barred from attending office work by wearing skirts, T Shirt and Pant, Male employees should not wear T Shirt.

Principal Secretary, Administration Department, Shalini Rajanish, had stated that the dress code was introduced to uphold the dignity of the Government Offices.

The dress code was introduced after consulting the State Government Employees Association which had asked for such an action since the newly appointed were attending office by wearing dress which was against the dignity of the Office.

It was made compulsory for Drivers and Group ‘D’ employees to wear uniforms prescribed for them without  fail.

Under the new Dress Code male employees should wear only pant, Shirt, Pyjama and Kurta and females Saree or  Churidar.
