JAMMU, Dec 23: Bahu Fort police apprehended two persons including a truck driver for cheating, forgery and criminal breach of trust.
As per police sources, on December 7 this year, a complaint was lodged by Bahu Fort Police Station by Rakesh Kumar, son of Govind Ram of Talab Tillo Jammu stating that on November 11 this year, Ashok kumar, son of Mool Raj of RS pura loaded 15 tons of steel rods worth Rs 6,32,856 from Vijay Steel Factory Bari Brahmana in truck bearing registration number JK02AF-7735 which was to be delivered to Falcon Group Srinagar. The driver did not deliver the consignment and in connivance with other cheated with the complainant.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 286/17 under Sections 420, 407, 467, 468 and 109 RPC was registered at Police Station Trikuta Nagar.
During the course of investigation, a team from Bahu Fort Police Station arrested the driver and his associate.
The associate of the arrested driver has been identified as Chaman Lal, son of Ashok Kumar of Lahori Chak tehsil Marh.
On their disclosure, 15 tons of steel rods worth Rs 6,32,856 has been recovered.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
Police team led by SDPO East Arun Jamwal and SHO Bahu Fort Inspector Pervaz Sajjad made the arrest under the supervision of SP South Sandeep Choudhary.
