Driver arrested with 2 kg cannabis

JAMMU, Jan 18: Nagrota police under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ launched by SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta arrested a driver and recovered 2 kilograms of cannabis from his possession.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Nagrota Police Station laid a naka and intercepted a Tavera car bearing registration number JK03C-8918, which was on its way to Jammu from Srinagar.
During checking, police recovered 2 kilograms of cannabis from the possession of the driver and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Amir Ahmed Sheikh, son of Mohammad Yousaf, a resident of district Anantnag.
A case under FIR Number 9/18 under Section 8/20/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Nagrota and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Nagrota Inspector Bushan Singh Manhas made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Yashbir Singh Salathia, SP Rural Shivdeep Singh Jamwal and SP PC Jammu Viney Sharma.
