SAMBA, Oct 17: Ramgarh Police has seized one kg and 840 grams of poppy straw from a truck in main market Ramgarh during the routine checking yesterday.
According to reports, a police patrol party of P/S Ramgarh headed by ASI Mohd. Bashir under the supervision of SHO P/S Ramgarh during the checking of vehicles at Y-Junction near main market Ramgarh stopped a truck bearing Registration No.HR38-R/5949 and subjected it to thorough checking. During the checking, one Kg and 840 gms of poppy straw was recovered from its cabin.
The police while taking cognizance of the matter seized the contraband item as well as the truck. The driver of the vehicle namely Pritam Chand, S/o Hans Raj R/o Ramloo, Ramgarh was also arrested. A case under FIR No. 44/2016 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered against the accused person at P/S Ramgarh and the investigation taken up.
