Driver arrested for smuggling bovines

JAMMU, Mar 1: Miran Sahib police arrested a driver for smuggling bovine animals.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Miran Sahib police station established a naka and signaled a Tata Mobile bearing registration number JK02AJ-4656 to stop for checking.
Sensing trouble, driver accelerated the vehicle and tried to escape from the naka, but the active cops chased and intercepted the vehicle.
During checking, police rescued 2 bovine animals and arrested the driver, who has been identified as Shabir Khan alias Shammi, son of Mirza Khan, a resident of Kaqeri.
A case under Section 188 RPC and 3 PCA Act has been registered at police station Miran Sahib against the accused and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Miran Sahib police station SI Hilal Azhar made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Harjeet Singh, SP Headquarters Jammu RC Kotwal and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
