Driver arrested for smuggling bovines to Valley

REASI, Jan 4: Police arrested a driver for smuggling bovines to Valley from Wani Morh area, falling under the jurisdiction of Mahore police station.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Mahore police station laid a naka at Wani Morh on Mahore-Gool Road and intercepted a Mahindra Bolero pick-up van bearing registration number JK20-7643.
During checking, police rescued 4 bovine animals from the vehicle and arrested the driver, who was smuggling the cattle to Valley via Mahore-Gool road.
The accused has been identified as Siraj Din, son of Bashir Ahmed, a resident of Kund, Tehsil Mahore, District Reasi.
A case under FIR Number 2/16 under Section 188 RPC and 3/5 PCA Act has been registered against the accused at police station Mahore and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Mahore police station Inspector Salim Altaf Raina made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Mahore Ayaz Ahmed, Additional SP Reasi Sanjay Singh Rana and SSP Reasi Sujit Kumar.
