Driver arrested for smuggling bovines

JAMMU, May 12: Police today arrested a driver for smuggling 9 bovine animals to Valley.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Jhajjar Kotli police station laid a naka and intercepted a Srinagar bound truck bearing registration number JK02X-6077.
During checking, police rescued 17 bovine animals from the vehicle and arrested the driver, who has been identified as Mohammad Yousaf, son of Noor Din, a resident of Nathyal, district Ramban.
A case under FIR number 156/16 under Section 188 RPC and 3/5 PCA Act has been registered against the accused at police station Jhajjar Kotli and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Jhajjar Kotli police station Inspector Ravinder Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Bharat Bhushan Sharma and SP Rural Arun Gupta.
