Driver arrested with 1 tonne of polythene

JAMMU, May 14: Gangyal Police arrested a driver along with 1 tonne of polythene.
As per police sources, on reliable information, a team from Gangyal Police Station led by SHO Inspector Sunil Singh Jasrotia laid a naka near Kunjwani Chowk and intercepted a truck bearing registration number PB46H-9833 carrying onions.
During checking, police team recovered 1 tonne of polythene concealed in 40 bags beneath the onions and arrested the driver, who has been identified as Harjit Singh, son of Charan Singh of Ward Number 3 Kotla Saidan, Amritsar Punjab.
A case under FIR Number 69/2020 under section 188 IPC and 7/10 J&K Non Biodegradable Act has been registered at Police Station Gangyal and investigation started.
