JAMMU, May 27: Domana police arrested a driver and his associate along with 200 grams charas.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Domana police station laid a naka and signaled a chicken carrying mini-truck bearing registration number JK02M-1182, which was on its way to Mishriwala from Srinagar, to stop for checking.
On seeing police cops, the driver accelerated the vehicle and tried to escape from the spot, but the cops chased and intercepted the vehicle near some distance from the naka point.
During checking, police recovered 200 grams charas from the possession of the driver and his associate. Both were arrested by the police.
The accused have been identified as Rajinder Kumar, son of Satpal and Vicky Kumar, son of Suram Chand, both residents of Mishriwala.
A case under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at Domana police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Domana Inspector Rajeshwar Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Domana SK Sharma and SP Rural Arun Gupta.
