JAMMU, Aug 30: Police arrested a driver and his associate along with 60 grams heroin from Khuga Morh, falling under the jurisdiction of Akhnoor police station.
As per police sources, based on reliable information, a team from Akhnoor police station laid a naka at Khuga Morh and intercepted a Swift Dzire car bearing temporary registration number JMU-BH-0476.
During checking, police recovered 60 grams heroin from the possession of the two persons, traveling in the car and arrested them.
The accused have been identified as Mushraf Pravez (driver), son of Kabir Hussain of Arhi, tehsil Mendhar, District Poonch and Yasir Hussain, son of Tanvir Hussain of Guldh, Tehsil Mendhar, District Poonch.
A case under FIR Number 125/16 under Section 8/22/23 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Akhnoor Inspector Pushpinder Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Gurvinder Pal Singh and SP Rural Arun Gupta.
