RAMBAN, Apr 17: Police arrested a driver and his associate along with illicit liquor pouches.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Ramban Police Station laid a naka at Shan Palace and intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK03F-7034.
During checking, police recovered 72 pouches of illicit liquor from the possession of the driver and his associate and arrested them.
The arrested persons have been identified as Mohammad Rafeeq, son of Ghulam Qadir of Laripora Anantnag and Mohammad Nadeem, son of Mohammad Rafiq of Mir Bazaar Anantnag.
They were carrying the illicit liquor pouches to their native places for selling among the people to make illegitimate profits.
A case under FIR Number 54/18 has been registered at Police Station Ramban and investigation started.
Police team led by Incharge SHO Ramban SI Sumit Magotra made the arrest under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Ramban Tussif Ahmed and SSP Ramban Mohan Lal.
