Driver, associate arrested with 17 kgs poppy straw

JAMMU, Oct 29: Gangyal police arrested a driver and his associate along with 17 kilograms of poppy straw.
As per police sources, on reliable information, a team from Gangyal Police Station led by SHO Inspector Sunil Singh Jasrotia laid a naka near Kunjwani Chowk and intercepted a truck bearing registration number PB13BD-0303.
During checking, police team recovered 17 kilograms poppy straw from the vehicle and arrested the driver and his associate.
The arrested persons were identified as Veer Davinder Singh, son of Gurgent Singh and Jaspal Singh, son of Mukhtyar Singh, both residents of Punjab.
A case under FIR Number 123/19 under Section 8/15/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Gangyal Police Station and investigation started.
