JAMMU, Jan 17: Bahu Fort police under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ arrested a driver and his associate along with one kilogram of poppy straw.
As per police sources, on reliable information, a team from Bahu Fort Police Station laid a naka and intercepted a truck.
During checking, police recovered one kilogram of poppy straw from the vehicle and arrested the driver along with his associate.
The arrested persons have been identified as Subash Chander, son of Kartar Chander, a resident of Hiranagar District Kathua and Yashpal, son of Khoju Ram, a resident of RS Pura.
A case under FIR Number 14/19 under section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at Bahu Fort Police Station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Bahu Fort Inspector Pervaz Sajjad made the arrest under the supervision of SP South Vinay Kumar and SSP Jammu Tejinder Singh.
