JAMMU, July 4: Manwal Police arrested a driver and his associate along with 3.200 kilograms of poppy straw.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Manwal Police Post laid a naka at Jeda and intercepted a truck bearing registration number PB10GX-2387.
During checking, police team recovered 3.200 kilograms of poppy straw from the vehicle and arrested the driver along with his associate.
The arrested persons were identified as Vinod Kumar, son of Raj Singh and Rachpal Singh, son of Dilawar Singh, both residents of Punjab.
A case under FIR Number 119/2020 under section 8/15/25/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Jhajjar Kotli and investigation started.
Police team led by Incharge Police Post Manwal SI Vikram Jasrotia and assisted by HC Mohinder Kumar made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Mohan Lal Sharma and SP Rural Suram Singh.
