JAMMU, Dec 1: A driver and his associate were arrested along with sharp-edged weapon from Domail area, falling under the jurisdiction of Jhajjar Kotli police station.
As per police sources, police team from Jhajjar Kotli police station laid a naka at Domail and intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK02AS-9307 for routine checking.
The driver instead of stopping the vehicle tried to escape, but the truck was chased by the active cops of Jhajjar Kotli police and intercepted.
The conductor of the vehicle along with his driver attacked the police party with sharp edged weapon, but the cops managed to arrest them.
The accused have been identified as Parvez Mohammad (conductor), son of Mohammad Azam and Lal Hussain (driver), son of Mohammad Azam, both residents of district Rajouri.
A case under FIR number 148/14 under Section 4/25 Arms Act, 119, 177 and 184 MV Act has been registered at Jhajjar Kotli police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Jhajjar Kotli police station SI Hilal Azhar made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Khaliq Choudhary, SP Rural Rajiv Pandey and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
