Driver, associate held with illicit liquor

RAMBAN, Dec 25: Chanderkote police arrested tractor trolley driver and his associate along with illicit liquor from Dhalwas Link Road.
As per police sources, on specific information, police team from Chanderkote police station laid a naka at Dalwas Link Road and intercepted a tractor troller bearing registration number JK19-1832.
During checking, police recovered 216 pouches of illicit liquor from a hidden box and arrested the driver and his associate.
The accused has been identified as Liaqat Ali (driver), son of Nazar Hussain of Chanderkote and Rakesh Singh, son of Baldev Chand, a resident of Sawani.
The accused were carrying the illicit liquor pouches to sale among the masses of Dalwas, Sawani and Tulang on exorbitant rates for illegitimate profits.
A case under 72/15 under Section 48-A Excise Act has been registered at police station Chanderkote and investigation started.
Police team from Chanderkote police station led by SI Sandeep Chib made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Chanderkote Inspector Manzoor Ahmad Kohli, Additional SP Ramban, Arun Gupta and SSP Ramban Randeep Kumar.
