JAMMU, Mar 17: Janipur Police booked a truck driver for negligent driving causing death of a labourer.
As per police sources, on March 11 this year information was received at Police Station Janipur that a person identified as Som Raj (35), son of Daya Ram of Nandni Karpalpur Phalain Mandal had died due to electric shocks at GMCJ Jammu. He was a labourer with truck bearing registration number JK14-9783 and he got electric shocks near Janipur while reversing the said truck.
Acting over the information, inquest proceeding was initiated to ascertain the actual cause of death.
During enquiry, statements of eyewitness were recorded and it was found that the said incident occurred due to the negligence and carelessness of truck driver.
The inquest proceeding was converted into a case under FIR Number 27/2021 under Section against truck driver, who was identified as Gurpreet Singh, son of Raghubir Singh of Nandni Karpalpur Phalain Mandal Jammu.
